Today sweet little Bruce is a healthy kitten who gets a lot of love.
But Bruce wasn’t always so happy. When he was just one day old, the newborn was found abandoned in the pouring rain on a street in Auckland, New Zealand.
Fortunately Bruce was found by the right person, and today he lives in a loving home with his mum, his dad and his older cat sister, Jager.
After Bruce was born last November, he was immediately left alone. Kathryn Van Beek was on her way home from work when she saw the kitten crawling on a rainy road in the middle of Auckland. She was shocked by what she saw. The kitten was so young, she still had an umbilical cord.

Kathryn looked around to see if the kitten belonged to anyone, but she couldn’t find anyone. So Kathryn took Bruce home with her, and her little family got a new member.

Kathryn named her new baby after “Batman’s” Bruce Wayne. Kathryn and her partner took turns feeding Bruce and warming him with blankets to keep him alive.

After almost two weeks with his new parents, Bruce weighed just over 100 grams and his eyes were still closed.

But Bruce turned out to be a little fighter. He grew stronger day by day and soon opened his beautiful eyes.

A short time later Bruce could eat alone. He became a healthy and playful little kitten.

Now Bruce is 23 weeks old. His family has a Facebook page and a web page created for him and fans from all over the world are watching him today.

Thank God there are kind-hearted animal lovers like Kathryn and her partner in this world. They got a little kitten, who didn’t have an easy start into life, and gave him a second chance.
